The $1,000 Absolute Recovery Guarantee

Unique to the industry, Absolute Software is the first to offer a Recovery Guarantee of up to $1000* to back up its theft recovery service. Absolute's guarantee reinforces the company's reputation of offering a trusted and reliable computer security solution. If a computer protected by our flagship product, ComputraceComplete, goes missing, Absolute will recover it within 60 days or you may be eligible to receive up to $1,000* per computer.

In order to qualify for our Recovery Guarantee Service, install Computrace and:

Install Computrace and Ensure Regular PC Contact with the Absolute Monitoring Center - Customers need to ensure that the Computrace Agent is properly installed and calling into the Monitoring Center. In the event of theft, the Computrace Agent must have successfully completed a call to the Monitoring Center at least once in the 30 days prior to the date of theft.

Report a Theft Immediately - In the event that a computer is stolen, be sure to report the theft to your local police department immediately. The Police Department will create a Theft Report and Police file number for you; items that need to be received by Absolute Software within 14 days of the theft.

Theft Must be in a Recovery Territory - Absolute can only guarantee payment for computers that are stolen in territories where there is a Recovery Team. The Recovery Guarantee currently applies for computers stolen in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Send in Your Submission Form Immediately - If we cannot recover your computer within 60 days, we will send you a Submission Form. Be sure to return your Submission Form with a valid proof of purchase in the form of an invoice, receipt or leasing agreement which specifies the serial number of the stolen computer to Absolute Software within 30 days. If the computer is recovered during the submission process, the recovery payment will not be issued.

Don't Be Over-Installed! Ensure that you have not installed the Agent on more computers than you have Computrace license(s) and be sure that your licenses are current at all times.

Thinking about Activating Data Delete? Because stolen PCs often contain highly sensitive information, Absolute offers a Data Delete capability that can remotely erase the entire hard drive of the stolen PC or specific data files – allowing customers to keep confidential data out of the hands of strangers. If this feature is activated, the Recovery Guarantee is null and void.
